Bengaluru, August 8: Madhya Pradesh is poised for a potential tech surge, with Google Cloud proposing the establishment of a startup hub and a center of excellence in the state. The announcement comes amidst a series of promising investment proposals received by the state government during a session organized by Invest Madhya Pradesh.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav revealed the news during the session, further stating that chip giant NVIDIA also expressed interest in collaborating with the state to create a blueprint for positioning Madhya Pradesh as the “Intelligence Capital of India.”
The session yielded proposals worth nearly INR 3,200 crore, which, if materialized, are expected to generate around 7,000 new jobs and bolster the state’s economic landscape.
CM Yadav also engaged in discussions with spacetech startups and leading IT companies like Infosys, Cognizant, and TCS. These discussions focused on the development of information technology in Madhya Pradesh and potential future investments by the companies.
“The positive response we received fuels our hope that several IT companies will set up campuses in Madhya Pradesh,” remarked CM Yadav.
While formal agreements haven’t been reached, Google Cloud’s proposal aligns with their recent aggressive expansion in India, including partnerships with local authorities and players. This follows a string of similar collaborations:
- February 2024: Google signed an MoU with the Maharashtra government to promote AI solutions across various sectors.
- May 2024: Google Cloud partnered with Bharti Airtel to provide cloud solutions to Indian businesses.
- May 2024: Soket AI Labs, a homegrown AI startup, launched India’s first open-source multilingual foundational model in collaboration with Google Cloud.
- August 2024: SaaS startup Adya.ai announced a partnership with Google Cloud to facilitate ONDC adoption among enterprises.
Madhya Pradesh’s potential collaboration with Google Cloud and other tech giants signifies a promising development for the state’s economic and technological future.
