The Hyderabad Software Enterprises Association (HYSEA) hosted its highly anticipated 31st National Summit & Awards on February 14, 2024, at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC). This flagship event, attended by over 700 delegates including more than 100 IT industry leaders, focused on the theme “AI: Celebrating the Future.”
The summit comprised a conference, a product expo, and the annual industry awards ceremony, bringing together experts, entrepreneurs, and industry veterans to explore the profound impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on businesses and society.
The event commenced with a ceremonial lamp lighting by esteemed guests including Mr. Karthik Natarajan, CEO of CYIENT, Ms. C. Kavitha, Director of STPI-Hyderabad, and Ms. Manisha Saboo, President of HYSEA, among others. Welcoming the audience, Ms. Saboo expressed excitement about the program curated in partnership with Mr. Saurabh Chandra, Managing Director of BCG. The lineup of speakers promised insightful discussions centered around embracing an AI-first paradigm.
Mr. Natarajan delivered the opening keynote, “AI: Celebrating the Future,” shedding light on the transformative power of AI and the disruptions catalyzed by Gen AI and related technologies. He emphasized the burgeoning AI market, which reached USD 150.2 billion in 2023 and is projected to grow at a remarkable compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 36.8% from 2023 to 2030. The keynote showcased various AI use cases spanning design automation, medical diagnostics, predictive maintenance, and more, highlighting AI’s role in enhancing efficiency, reducing costs, and improving quality across industries.
A panel discussion on “AI: Human in the Loop” chaired by Mr. Jitendra Chakravarthy Putcha, EVP and Global Head of Data, Analytics, and AI, featured experts exploring the coexistence of humans and AI in the evolving technological landscape. The AI-First panel, comprising CTOs and engineering leaders from renowned organizations, delved into the disruptive forces shaping enterprise AI, conversational AI, language model models (LLMs), and beyond, offering profound insights into the future of these technologies.
A compelling analyst keynote by Mr. Saurabh Chandra of BCG titled “Opportunity or Dilemma: Navigating Business in Volatile Macroeconomic Conditions” dissected the current competitive landscape, emphasizing the importance of dynamic strategies amidst global disruptions.
A distinguished CEO panel discussed strategic opportunities amidst macroeconomic challenges, while academicians and researchers explored R&D commercialization and collaboration opportunities between academia and industry.
The event culminated in a glittering awards ceremony honoring IT/ITES companies and startups for their achievements in exports, productivity, and product development. Notably, Mr. CP Gurnani, former CEO and MD of Tech Mahindra, received the prestigious HYSEA Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions to the industry.
