DigitalPaani Secures $1.2 Million in Seed Funding for Water Management Innovation

Water management startup DigitalPaani has successfully raised $1.2 million in a seed funding round, setting the stage for transformative changes in the wastewater treatment sector. The funding round was led by global investors, Elemental Excelerator, marking their first investment in Asia, and supported by Indian institutional investors, including Enzia, Peer Cheque, SAE, DevC, and Bharat Founders Fund. Several prominent angels, such as Ashish Goel (Urban Ladder), Alok Mittal (Indifi), Mohit Sadani (Moms Co), and Mohit Tandon (Delhivery), also participated in the round.

DigitalPaani has rapidly gained recognition for its innovative approach to wastewater management, offering automation and software solutions to enhance the functionality of wastewater treatment infrastructure. Notably, more than 40 industry leaders, including Tata Power, Delhi Jal Board, Britannia, and Leela Hotels, are already utilizing the company’s cutting-edge technology to improve their wastewater treatment operations.

The father-daughter duo behind DigitalPaani is on a mission to revolutionize wastewater management by unlocking its potential to meet up to 65 percent of water needs while reducing costs by as much as 35 percent. The company’s IoT-enabled platform optimizes plant operations to treat more wastewater, minimize downtime, and facilitate water reuse.

Mansi Jain, CEO, and Co-Founder of DigitalPaani expressed excitement about the funding and the company’s future prospects, stating, “We’re excited to build our offering out and help facilities across the country unlock the power of our platform.”

Looking ahead, DigitalPaani plans to utilize the newly acquired funds to expand its technology to more wastewater treatment plants throughout India. Additionally, the startup aims to explore potential markets beyond India’s borders, marking a significant milestone in its mission to transform wastewater management on a global scale. The funds will also enable the company to establish additional sales channels to further enhance its reach and impact.

Over the next twelve months, DigitalPaani will focus on accelerating its growth in key urban centers, including the National Capital Region of Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Pune, and Hyderabad. The startup’s vision extends beyond business success; it is committed to contributing significantly to India’s water sustainability goals and advancing wastewater management practices to ensure efficient operations.

Dawn Lippert, Founder and CEO of Elemental, emphasized the alignment of their investment with the goal of scaling technologies with deep climate and community impact. Lippert stated, “We believe that clean water is a fundamental right for all, and its innovative approach to water management is a crucial step toward achieving that.”
