ISBACON 2024 catalyzing the Indian Startup ecosystem held in Hyderabad

Over the past three years, Hyderabad has earned the title of India’s Next Start-up Powerhouse, making it no surprise that ISBACON, the Mecca for start-up incubators and accelerators, is returning to the city after its long hiatus. The Indian STEPs and Business Incubators Association’s (ISBA) annual conference, ISBACON, is India’s largest gathering of start-up incubators, drawing diverse attendees including investors, government officials, industry experts, and more.

The 16th edition of ISBACON 2024 was jointly organized by ISBA and the Atal Incubation Centre -Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (AIC-CCMB) at CSIR – CCMB, Hyderabad on October 18 and 19.  Pre-conference workshops was co-led by ISBACON and T-Hub at T-Hub on October 17.

The mega event witnessed invigorating discussions with representatives from government, academia and industry and the release of the impact report of ISBA@20. Shri Jayesh Ranjan, Special Chief Secretary for Information Technology, Electronics & Communications, Government of Telangana presided over the meeting, bringing his vision and leadership to the forefront of this pivotal gathering. Dr. K. Suresh Kumar, President of ISBA, said, “The goal of ISBACON is to enhance business incubation efforts in India by enabling the exchange of information, sharing experiences, and fostering networking among Indian Business Incubators (TBIs), Science and Technology Entrepreneurs Parks (STEPs), and other associated organizations. The objective is to cultivate a mature startup ecosystem that encourages innovation and collaboration.’

Commenting on the collaboration with ISBA, Dr. Madhusudhana Rao, CEO AIC-CCMB, noted, “Industry 5.0 in India will be driven by startups of today. ISBA’s initiatives and network amplify the entrepreneurial spirit in India through the association of enablers who are critical for nurturing and shaping these startups.”

The program promises three dynamic days of discussions on global innovation synergies, India’s ground-breaking advances, policy frameworks and invaluable networking opportunities with over 250 major stakeholders.

Dr. Vinay Nandicoori, Director CCMB, closed by remarking, “This is a unique opportunity to integrate the start-up ecosystem with CCMB, a premier institute dedicated to fundamental life sciences research. With AIC-CCMB, we warmly welcome everyone and look forward to engaging in excellent discourse”. Mr Ramanan R, Former Mission Director AIM & Advisory Committee Member ISBA, Mr Praveen Roy, NSTEDB, DST, Dr Jitendra Kumar, Managing Director – BIRAC among others.

Shri K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) will be giving the valedictory talk at the conference tomorrow, bringing his insights and vision to the culmination of this prestigious event.
