New Delhi, India – Amazon India has joined forces with the Ministry of Labour and Employment to connect job seekers with available positions at the e-commerce giant and its staffing agencies. The partnership, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), will see Amazon’s job opportunities listed on the National Career Service (NCS) portal.
This collaboration marks a significant step towards bridging the gap between supply and demand in the job market, particularly in the fast-growing e-commerce sector. The NCS portal, with its vast database of over 60 lakh active job seekers and 33.50 lakh active employers, offers a platform for connecting job providers and seekers across various levels and roles.
Union Minister of Labour & Employment Mansukh Mandaviya expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “This collaboration will significantly enhance the visibility of work opportunities at Amazon, aligning with our vision of a pan-India one-stop portal that effectively connects employers with candidates.” He added that Amazon’s commitment to nurturing talent and its diverse range of roles make it an ideal partner for this initiative.
The MoU also includes plans to organize job fairs at Model Career Centers (MCCs), where job seekers can directly interact with Amazon’s recruitment teams. Additionally, the ministry will assist Amazon in conducting job fairs across the country.
A key focus of the partnership is on inclusivity, with a priority on promoting employment opportunities for women and divyang candidates. Amazon India currently employs over 1.2 lakh people across various roles, including operations, corporate, and seasonal positions.
The collaboration between Amazon India and the National Career Service is expected to play a crucial role in addressing the unemployment challenges faced by many in India and contribute to the overall economic development of the country.
