Telangana Secures Major AI Investment Boost for Tier-II Cities

Published:

Hyderabad, India (August 10, 2024) – Telangana has secured a significant investment influx in the artificial intelligence (AI) sector, with a focus on developing its Tier-II cities. Through the efforts of Tconsult, 30 international AI companies have committed to setting up operations in cities like Warangal, Mahbubnagar, Nalgonda, Adilabad, and Karimnagar.

This strategic move, announced during Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s visit to the United States, is expected to create 4,000 jobs immediately. Several companies are poised to begin operations as early as September, marking a rapid acceleration of AI adoption in the state.

“The investments by these AI companies underscore Telangana’s strategic importance in the global AI landscape,” said Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. “Our focus on Tier-II cities ensures that technological growth benefits every corner of our state.”

Sundeep Kumar Makthala, Chief of Tconsult and WTITC, emphasized the initiative’s role in decentralizing economic growth. “By directing investments to Tier-II cities, we are fostering inclusive development and reducing pressure on metropolitan areas,” he said.

IT and Industries Minister Duddila Sridhar Babu commended Makthala’s efforts, highlighting the potential for AI-driven economic transformation in Telangana.

With this significant investment, Telangana is positioning itself as a leader in AI, with its Tier-II cities set to become key players in the global AI market.
