A groundbreaking initiative, the International Startup Foundation Gurukul (ISFG), is set to launch soon, aiming to revolutionize skill development in the face of rapid technological advancements.
Dr JA Chowdary, Chairman of ISF, spoke at a press conference and shared insight on the upcoming job loss “tsumani” predicted at the Global Summit held last year in Singapore, where prominent venture capitalists had gathered. Quoting the World Economic Forum report, Dr Chowdary drew the attention of outh towards a looming employment crisis. The report projected that automation would eliminate approximately 80 million jobs while creating 60 million new opportunities in generative AI and related technologies.
Addressing this, ISF Gurukul plans to bridge the skill gap by offering specialized training programs. For existing employees in sectors like testing, the Gurukul will provide comprehensive domain knowledge alongside AI training. Unlike traditional classroom teaching, this training will involve solving real-world problems using ISF resources and fostering hands-on learning. Chowdary emphasized, “We will give the problems to them. They have to learn everything by going through YouTube. By solving that problem, they should learn the new technologies, prompting engineering, domain knowledge, everything will happen.”
Additionally, ISF Gurukul will target third-year engineering students, sharpening their skills through practical, problem-solving approaches. This ensures that by the time they graduate, they will be highly sought after by employers. “Automatically, they will get a job,” Chowdary assured, highlighting the initiative’s goal to ensure a steady pipeline of job-ready graduates.
This initiative underscores the necessity of cross-domain skills for future employment. It marks a significant step towards preparing the workforce for the challenges and opportunities of the AI-driven future, reinforcing the mission of ISF Gurukul.
