The Indian government plans to spend more money on a big project called the IndiaAI Mission. According to Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar, they’ll double the money for this project, making it INR 20,000 Cr. This decision follows the Prime Minister’s approval of a huge fund of INR 1 Lakh Cr for research and development in fuel innovation and the IndiaAI mission.
The IndiaAI Mission started earlier this year with INR 10,372 Cr for five years. Its goal is to make a strong AI (artificial intelligence) system across India. This will help create new ideas, partnerships between public and private sectors, and give money to new AI startups.
Minister Chandrasekhar talked about this at an event named “Vishesh Sampark Abhiyan.” He said the government wants to keep growing India’s digital economy, which is already doing well. He thinks it will be worth more than $1 trillion by 2027-28.
The decision to put more money into the IndiaAI Mission comes at a time when AI technology is growing fast in India. Many startups and investors are excited about the potential of AI in different fields.
The IndiaAI Mission aims to improve India’s ability to use computers, set up centers for new ideas, and train young people in AI skills. The government also wants to make rules for AI that help innovation.
The growing AI market in India, GenAI, is expected to be worth $17 billion by 2030. With more investment in AI, India hopes to become a major player in shaping the future of artificial intelligence worldwide.
