The Conference Unveils Transformative Technologies, Inspires Collaboration, and Sets the Stage for a Brighter, AI-Powered Tomorrow

Hyderabad’s AI Days 2024 conference, held at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), concluded on March 31st, bringing together over 2,000 attendees passionate about making artificial intelligence (AI) work for society. The event kicked off with the theme “AI4Society,” signaling a focus on leveraging AI and ML technologies for the betterment of society.

The event, hosted by Swecha and various partners, showcased how AI can positively impact fields like healthcare, agriculture, and education. Representatives from leading companies like Facebook, Microsoft, and Qualcomm shared their insights during the two-day convention.

A key highlight of the conference was the keynote address delivered by Shikha Goel, IPS, who serves as the Regional Director General of Police and the Director of the Cyber Security Bureau at IBM. With over 29 years of experience in law enforcement, Goel brought a wealth of insights into the intersection of AI and public safety.

In her address, Goel emphasized the transformative role of AI in policing and security. She highlighted the rapid evolution of AI technologies and their pervasive impact on various aspects of society. Drawing from her extensive experience, she underscored the need for collaboration between law enforcement agencies and technology experts to effectively address emerging challenges.

Goel’s keynote delved into the ethical considerations surrounding AI deployment, stressing the importance of responsible innovation. She urged attendees to prioritize the development of AI systems that align with ethical principles and respect individual rights and privacy.
Furthermore, Goel discussed the potential risks associated with AI-enabled crime and the challenges faced by law enforcement in combating digital threats. She emphasized the need for cutting-edge technology and innovative solutions to stay ahead of evolving cyber threats and ensure public safety.

Throughout her address, Goel reiterated the conference’s theme of “AI4Society,” calling upon participants to harness the power of AI for the betterment of communities. Swecha Founder Y Kiran Chandra praised the conference as the largest of its kind in the country, with over 2,000 participants from diverse backgrounds. He highlighted the event’s focus on addressing real-world issues and fostering collaboration across various sectors. Chandra emphasized the significance of AI technology in addressing societal challenges, stating, “This conference serves as a testament to the collective commitment to utilizing AI for the greater good.
