JV To Introduce North American Agri Best Practise into Indian Farming

Farmers Edge and LTIMindtree unveil a pioneering Agricultural Innovation Hub which will redefine farming in India

Farmers Edge, a North American AgriTech company, and LTIMindtree, a global technology company, have collaborated to infuse North American best practices into India’s agricultural landscape. 

In a significant stride towards revolutionising Indian agriculture, LTIMindtree, a global technology consulting and digital solutions company, has collaborated with Farmers Edge to introduce the Farmers Edge Innovation Lab (FEIL) in Mumbai. Fairfax Digital Services empowers this innovation hub to redefine the nation’s farming practices by combining advanced AgriTech with digital expertise—this cross-pollination of best practices from North America to India is a testament to international collaboration. Their joint objectives include sustainability, increased yield, and reduced costs for Indian farmers. FEIL – Mumbai will cater to the unique weather, soil, and crop cycle needs of Indian agriculture.

The lab will focus on key aspects crucial to the Indian market, such as: 

• Weather: Analysing weather patterns and their impact on crop production.

• Soil: Ensuring a comprehensive understanding for maximising yields while improving soil health.

• Crop Cycles: Assisting farmers in optimising field processes to add significant value to the agricultural value chain.

Farmers Edge, renowned for its proficiency in remote sensing and agronomic modelling, in collaboration with LTIMindtree, shall offer insights to farmers and enterprises. Leveraging LTIMindtree’s cutting-edge technologies, such as GenAI, IOT, Automation, and Drones, FEIL aims to advance Indian farming by ensuring high crop yields at minimal input costs.

Vibhore Arora, CEO of Farmers Edge, expressed enthusiasm for this pioneering initiative, highlighting FEIL-Mumbai’s role in driving India’s agricultural revolution by providing data-driven solutions tailored to local farmer requirements.

This launch marks a key juncture in India’s agricultural revolution, as future technology, when harmonised with traditional methods, could boost prosperity in the fields.

The lab’s focus areas include weather pattern analysis, soil health improvement, and optimising crop cycles, pivotal aspects tailored for the Indian market.
